Video: Envisioning LGBT Human Rights

Professor Nancy Nicol of The Centre for Feminist Research at York University, Canada, talks about the Envisioning Global LGBT Human Rights project at the 'LGBT Identities, Governance, and Asylum' session at the 13th conference of the International Association for Studies in Forced Migration (IASFM) held in Kampala, Uganda, July 3-6.

25 members of the research team and 33 partners are involved and the project's focus is the Commonwealth and challenges to laws in particular countries. With asylum the focus is Canada and South Africa. The project is using video to document human rights abuses and strategies against criminalisation.
