This little animation reminds us that it only takes one Simple Act to change the way we see refugees, and ourselves. This is a film done by the charity Refugee Week as a part of our Simple Acts Campaign.
We are Refugee Week 2010 and we want everyone to do at least one of our 20 Simple Acts, to make a big change to how refugees are perceived.
Simple Acts is about inspiring people to use small, everyday actions to change perceptions of refugees.
It consists of 20 actions that can be done by anyone and that encourage us to learn and do more with refugees. With every person who joins the campaign and does a small thing with and for refugees, we get a little closer to removing barriers between communities and to creating the kind of world we all want to live in.
Every journey begins with a single step and it is with simple acts of kindness, generosity and empathy that we can begin the change. Please join us.
Refugee Week is a UK wide programme of events which celebrate the contribution of refugees to the UK.
Refugee Week 2010 will take place from 14 - 20 June.
During Refugee Week hundreds of events exploring refugee experiences take place across the UK. These range from small community and school activities to art exhibitions, political debates, film screenings, conferences, big music festivals, sports events etc...
Anyone can get involved in Refugee Week either by organising or visiting an event or by just spreading the word! The main focus of our activities this year was Simple Acts, which is about inspiring people to use small, everyday actions to change perceptions of refugees.
