LGBT asylum conference seeks refugee input

The organisers of a major LGBT asylum conference want help from LGBTI asylum seekers and refugees in designing the event.

Organiser Dr Anne Cormack told LGBT Asylum News:
We would very much appreciate help from Asylum Seekers or Refugees in the planning of the conference. The next meeting will take place at 2pm on the 8th April at the University of Greenwich in London.

If you think that you might like to come to this meeting, or be involved with the planning and running of the conference, or just offer us some suggestions, could you please contact me.

We will of course cover the cost of any expenses

The conference is called LGBTI Asylum Seekers and Refugees: A Case of Double Jeopardy?

It will be launched at the House of Lords 5 July (hosted by Baroness Joyce Gould) and will be held at the University of Greenwich 6 – 7 July. The conference is being organized by the University of Greenwich (School of Humanities and Social Sciences) and ICAS (Institute for the Converging Arts and Sciences) in collaboration with the Metropolitan Support Trust, UK Lesbian and Gay Immigration Group, Michael Bell Associates Research and Consultancy, Metro Centre and Stonewall Housing.
