A 55 year old white male who resides in Borrowdale has been arrested together with four black male accomplices on allegations of committing acts of sexual immorality.

The incident which has left Domboshava residents in shock came to light when a bottle store owner suspected that something was wrong after seeing the young black men spending money in an unusual manner leading him to alert the police.

Residents at Mverechena Shopping Centre where the acts were committed condemned the practice saying it goes against cultural norms and the laws of nature.

The men are currently detained at Domboshava Police Station awaiting trial.

While the Zimbabwean constitution and customary laws clearly forbid same sex marriages, recent developments have exposed a number of cases of open homosexuality which have sparked outrage within society.

  1. spending money in an unusual manner -- it is not clear as to what extent the conduct was considered unlawful to warrant vigilance.
